One of the best things about Christmas is the food. During the festive period, food and drinks are always plentiful, and whether we have a small Christmas with few people or a large gathering, there are usually always leftovers.
With so much food and drink it can often go to waste and food wastage not only affects our pockets it’s also bad for the environment, so we have 10 delicious recipes that you can make with your leftovers.
1. Air fry club sandwich
This classic sandwich is a perfect way to use up your leftover turkey. You can use any leftover meat you wish, just add bacon, lettuce, tomatoes cheese and mayo and you have the perfect lunch. This recipe also states that you can substitute the cheese for avocado!
2. Toad in the hole
This toad in the whole is a mix and blend of all your Christmas leftovers. This recipe contains left over roasties, pigs in blankets, brussels and stuffing, however you can pretty much put anything you like into this delicious dish and you wont need to follow the recipe exactly as it is! Top it off with left over gravy and enjoy!
3. Turkey Pasta Bake
You can’t go wrong with a classic pasta bake and this delicious tomato-based dish contains leftover turkey and and pigs in blankets topped off with melted cheese!
4. Turkey Curry
Everyone loves a curry and this is perfect for the in-between days from Christmas day to new years when you are bored of a roast. With a prep time of just 15 mins and cooking time of 30 mins minutes, you can’t go wrong!
5. Winter vegetable curry
Waste not want not, this delicious coconut-infused curry contains all your leftover veggies from Christmas, such as parsnips, carrots, brussel sprouts and potatoes. You can be served with rice and naan bread.
6. Ultimate festive cheese toastie
If you are like me and have to have a cheeseboard accompanied by a glass of red over the Christmas period, this cheese toastie is perfect for the leftover cheese from your cheeseboard. It has some added cranberry sauce for those festive flavours and don’t worry if you do not have a toastie maker, as this recipe is made in a pan.
7. Melting nachos with shredded Gammon
If you’re a lover of gammon on Christmas day, then why not try these delicious Mexican nachos? They consist of our leftover gammon, melted cheese, jalapenos sour cream, and guacamole. It’s the perfect snack to share with the family and very easy to prepare.
