There’s something quietly powerful about wearing a fragrance that makes people stop and say, “You smell amazing.” The best perfumes that get compliments can change how you carry yourself, adding confidence that follows you throughout the day.
This edit brings together a collection of my favourite fragrances that consistently get noticed and make me feel great (and I have tried many perfumes). Some are warm and cosy, others are bold and sexy, but all of them have that effortless quality that makes people notice you and comment on how great you smell. These are the scents I keep coming back to because they just give luxury and elegance.
1. Chanel – Coco Mademoiselle Eau Privee
Coco Mademoiselle is one of my favourites out of the Chanel collection. It’s sweet, citrusy and fresh, giving that ‘just showered’ vibe, but as it settles, it’s more warm with hints of patchouli and subtle vanilla.
It’s a perfume that can be worn every day as well as evenings or special occasions, becoming less of a statement perfume and more of a personal signature. It’s a fragrance that feels grown-up and sophisticated, the kind you reach for when you want to feel put together without trying too hard.
2. YSL Libre – Eau De Parfum Intense
YSL Libre Intense is my favourite. I cannot get enough of this perfume. It’s bold, warm, and and sophisticated and elegant. When it’s first sprayed, you get a burst of sweetness, but it almost immediately settles into something deeper and richer, with warm vanilla and creamy floral notes.
It’s feminine, but in a strong, modern way. I don’t tend to wear this perfume in the day as it gives evening vibes rather than daytime.
This fragrance lingers gently, which is why I get so many compliments.I wear it all year round because I love it, but it’s perfect for Autumn and Winter.
3. Prada Parodoxe – Eau De Parfum Intense
Prada Paradoxe Intense is so luxurious. It’s sweet and floral but becomes deeper and creamier when it settles. I can still smell this perfume on me hours later, which is part of the reason I get so many compliments.
I tend to wear this perfume in the evenings when I am going out because it’s powerful and rich, but it’s not overpowering, so it could easily become your everyday signature. It also works well in cooler weather, and it’s very feminine and elegant, making it perfect for date night.
4. Carolina Herrera – Good Girl – Eau De Parfum
Carolina Herrera is a bold, but admittedly, I wasn’t sure about it when I sprayed it for the first time, but when it quickly settled, I couldn’t get enough, it’s very sexy!
It’s rich, sweet and warm with hints of cocoa token bean and jasmine.
This perfume is perfect for when you are dressed up for a night out, and it can last up to 12 hours. The stiletto-shaped bottle looks so good on my perfume display.
I remember being complimented by a stranger when I wore this, he said he was going to buy it for his wife!
5. Valentino – Born In Roma – Eau De Parfum Intense
Born in Roma by Valentino is one of those perfumes I kept reaching for until it was finished, and I’ve had multiple bottles. I initially bought a friend the male version and loved it, so I decided to purchase this one for myself. It’s definitely in one of my top favourites.
It’s rich and luxurious and doesn’t have to be sprayed too much for it to last all day.
The smell can be described as bright and fruity but also exhibits vanilla. I wear this in all seasons, evening and day because it’s simply the best!
