In this weeks dating diaries, we speak to a 26 year old Cabin Crew member from London who dated a Entrepreneur from London!

How did you meet?

“He sent a waiter over with a couple bottles of champagne to me and my friends. I can’t lie; this blew me away”

I was on holiday with friends in Dubai celebrating my birthday, and I attended pool party where I met my date.

With it being my birthday, I had a birthday banner on so I think this gave him a reason to notice me.

As I was enjoying myself with my girls, he sent a waiter over with a couple of bottles of champagne to me and my friends. I can’t lie; this blew me away. No one had ever done anything like that to me before.

I thanked him, he wished me happy birthday and we got talking from there.

It turns out he arrived in Dubai the same day I did and was also leaving the same day I was.

We partied and from there, myself and my friends spent a fair bit of time with him and his friends. We hung out in groups like going out clubbing and going for food. It was good vibes and one of my best holidays to date!

Where was your date?

We kept in contact after Dubai and it wasn’t long until he asked me on a date.

We went to an oriental restaurant in Mayfair London. He chose the restaurant but he did ask what cuisine I liked to eat beforehand.

Tell us how it went…

“I liked that there was a sense of vulnerability in the conversation, as we spoke about emotions and feelings, and how past relationships impacted us.”

He picked me up from the date, which I thought was thoughtful as I usually make my own way to dates.

I made an effort because I really fancied this guy, and I was going to one of the most expensive parts of London, so of course I had to look the part.

I wore a leather skirt, a cute top and heels. He picked me up in his Range Rover (one of his many cars)

It was my first time in this restaurant, but he had been there before. My date was helpful when it came to the menu and ordering and recommended things I should try.

He said I could get whatever I wanted, and I did not have to worry about not overdoing it!

He didn’t drink on the date, which I thought was responsible as he was driving me home – Green flag!

We both had a starter and main and shared a dessert as we were too full to have one each.

The conversation was great and there were no awkward moments or silences. I do think we had a head start though, as we spent a fair bit if time together in Dubai, so we didn’t have to start from scratch with the whole ‘getting to know you thing’.

We spoke about many things, such as family, and friends but mainly talked about travel as he was really intrigued about my job as Cabin Crew as he loved to travel too. We told each other about all the places we had visited.

I liked that he showed great interest in my career and didn’t seem tired of hearing about travel stories!

We also spoke about previous relationships and how they ended. I liked that there was a sense of vulnerability in the conversation, as we spoke about emotions and feelings and how past relationships impacted us.

It can be daunting to be vulnerable, especially when on a date with someone whom you don’t know that well, but to me vulnerability is powerful.

Who paid the bill?

“I paid the bill as I didn’t want to seem like a gold digger because he had money.”

I could tell this guy was not short of money. This made me want to impress him as I thought he would probably be used to always picking up the bill!

Another reason I paid the bill was as I didn’t want to seem like a gold digger because he had money. It may sound ridiculous to some, but I know when people have money, they have to be careful about genuine people and I wanted to show I was genuine.

He refused to let me pay, but as he went to get his wallet from his jacket pocket, I sneakily tapped my Apple pay on the card machine before he could stop me.

He seemed genuinely shocked by this and stated that no woman has ever paid for a date before.

Side note: He did eventually send me the money back to my account a few weeks later after he got my details for something else.

Did you see one another again?

We continued to date for a few more months but it didn’t progress into anything serious, he wasn’t ready for anything serious so we went our separate ways.

Rate the date:

The date was 10/10 but I couldn’t say the same for the whole experience with him!
