It’s that time of year again, where we celebrate our mothers and everything they do for us, after all without her there is no us, so naturally we want to spoil her on this special day!
Whilst buying gifts for our moms, we are also probably thinking about how we should celebrate the day. Most of us opt for a meal at a nice restaurant, but it can get a little boring , especially if you do this year after year!
This year is the perfect time to switch things up and do something different that you and your mom will enjoy. If you are unsure of what do, don’t worry, we have cultivated the perfect list of things to do with your mother this Mother’s day!
1. Wine tasting
Is your mother a lover of wine? If so, why not give wine tasting a go? Not only is it entertaining, but it is also educational. You and your mother walk away with knowledge about how to choose the best wines for your taste buds. If you are lucky, you may even get some cheese and grapes on the side too!
2. Book a massage
Your mother deserves to be pampered and relax on Mother’s Day, so consider taking her and yourself to get a massage! There is plenty to choose from, such as Indian head massage, hot stone, deep tissue, Swedish and plenty more. You can even get ‘Mother’s Day’ deals so you won’t have to pay full price, plus getting one together makes a perfect bonding experience!
3. Sushi making
Calling all sushi lovers! Celebrate Mother’s day making delicious sushi in a sushi-making class, which you get to eat afterwards of course! Shushi-making has become increasingly popular over the years as more of us cannot get enough Shushi. What’s great is that you can learn how to make it, as well as having fun. You may even find classes that offer bottomless drinks such as prosecco like the one in the video!
4. Hot air balloon
Planning on pushing the boat out this Mother’s Day? Then think about taking your mother on an incredible experience, such as a hot air balloon ride, provided she doesn’t hate heights, of course! Your mother will get to experience breathtaking scenery and adventure. If your mother is an outdoorsy person who loves nature, adventure and spectacular views, then no doubt it will go down as one of the best gifts ever!
5. Spa day
Mothers should be encouraged to indulge in self-care on Mother’s Day, so why not treat her to a spa experience? Mothers are most likely to put everybody before themselves and often don’t have time to relax or treat themselves. if this is the case for your mother, then she deserves to be pampered. It’s also a great way to spend quality time with your mother, creating great memories and bonding with one another!
6. Pottery class
Pottery classes are becoming increasingly popular, as I tend to see more and more popping up around the city. Not only is it a great skill to learn, but it is suitable for beginners and lots of fun! Whatever you make, whether it’s a mug, bowl or vase, you get to paint and keep it!
7. Escape rooms
If your mum is down for fun and getting active, try an escape room where you will face puzzles, mysteries, and challenges! It’s an activity that the whole family can enjoy together, and many escape rooms are also child-friendly if accompanied by adults, although some do have age restrictions!
8. Create a perfume
Spend some quality time with your mum by taking her to a perfume-making workshop. Moms who love perfumes will thank you for it, because they will get to make their very own. This perfume will be your mother’s favorite fragrance as it will remind her of the time she spent with you, making great memories!
9. Get your hair done together
Trips to the salon are high up on the list of ‘self-care rituals’, so treat yourself and your mother to a luxury blow dry or style this Mother’s day, because you both deserve to look glam! Look good, feel good!
10. Have a family get together
It’s not often that your family gets to get together! Bring the whole family together this Mother’s Day by organizing a get-together with aunts, cousins, mothers, fathers and sister and uncles! so you can celebrate all the mothers in your family.
