If you’re staying in and cooking this Valentine’s Day, it really doesn’t need to be a whole thing. You know the kind of dinners where you need loads of pots on the hob, ingredients you’ve never bought before, and prep times that somehow turn dinner into an all-day event.

You can still make something really good for your partner or date without overcomplicating it.

@whatwouldkaylacook Prawn Pasta 🦐🍅- there is NO other recipe to follow from know on, after you try this one! No cream, no passata just cherry tomatoes and a whole lot of flavour. Serves 8-10 Ingredients – 1kg prawns – 2 tablespoons butter – 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil – 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chilli – 2 tablespoons chopped parsley + extra to garnish – 6 garlic cloves, minced – 3-4 shallots, finely diced – 1 lemon- juice and zest – 1.2kg cherry tomatoes, halved – 1 teaspoon salt – 1/2 teaspoon pepper – 1 cup white white – Handful fresh basil – 1.5-2 500g packets linguine pasta 1. In a large saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Saute 2 teaspoons fresh chopped chilli, 2 teaspoons minced garlic and 2 teaspoons fresh parsley. Once fragrant add in your prawns. 2. After 3 minutes, add in the zest and juice of your lemon. Once your prawns are 3/4 way cooked, remove from the pan and set aside. 3. Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon olive oil to your pan and saute your shallots for a couple of minutes until translucent, then add in your remaining chilli, garlic and parsley. 4. Next add in your cherry tomatoes, and season well with salt and pepper. 5. Allow your tomatoes to cook for 10-15 minutes (they should burst and be very juicy), then pour in your wine. 6. After an additional 5 minutes, remove around half of your sauce and spoon into a blender with a large handful fresh basil leaves. Blend until smooth then pour back into your sauce. 7. Cook your pasta al dente, and reserve 1 cup pasta water. 8. Whilst your pasta is cooking, add your prawns back into your sauce to finish cooking. 9. Add in your cooked pasta along with your pasta water, mixing until every strand is well coated. 10. Season and cook steaks as preferred (I did 3 1/2 mins each side), then remove from pan and set aside covered in foil to keep warm 2. Pour a dash of white wine to deglaze the pan, then add a good sized knob of butter & melt 3. Add onion and cook for a few mins before adding mushroom and garlic 4. Allow this to cook down, stirring occasionally, while you put pasta in to boil 5. When the pasta is almost cooked, add a handful of fresh chopped sage, freshly grated Parmesan and approx 200ml double cream 6. Simmer & add pasta water until sauce is at desired consistency 7. The type u can’t wait to come home to after a long day 🙂‍↔️ Protein 57g / Calorie 715 Recipe (Serves 1): *For the full recipe including ingredients list, check the link in bio x -Boil the mini potatoes in salted water for 10–12 minutes until tender. -Drain the potatoes, dry them well and slice them in half. -Mix the Parmesan, garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary and olive oil into a paste. -Spread the paste onto a baking tray and press the potatoes cut-side down into it.
