Like me, you have probably scrolled through social media, seen plenty of filtered pictures of Instagram models and influencers captioned ‘Baddies’.
Well, after some google searches and speaking to some of those that would be considered ‘Baddies,’ I have learnt that it is not just a superficial term to describe people who look a certain way; there is a whole deeper meaning to the term, and rather than the term just focusing on looks, it is about behavior, mindset, attitude and the way we view the world around us.
1. Baddies possess confidence & self-love
A Baddie loves themselves, and I am not talking about how your head will explode type of love for themselves; they truly love themselves by accepting who they are; flaws and all, and loving themselves anyway.
Despite loving themselves for who they are, they are also aware of areas they can improve on, and are committed to doing so. They respect and are kind to themselves, and understand that they are not perfect, neither do they aspire to be.
Baddies ooze confidence, but despite this, they are also committed to working on and improving themselves.
2. Baddies want everyone to win
A true baddie will not be full of jealousy and envy, they want everyone to win and are genuinely happy for other people’s achievements and success. They understand that there is enough room for everyone to be successful, heck they will even help you get there!
Baddies will praise you when praise is needed, celebrate your achievements and be genuinely happy for you.
3. A Baddie takes care of themselves, physically, emotionally & mentally
A baddie’s priority is to look after themselves, physically, emotionally and mentally. They understand that prioritizing their health and well-being will improve their quality of life, improve happiness and reduce mental health and health difficulties.
4. Baddies are true to themselves
Baddies will always strive to be their authentic selves. They will not conform to how others or society think they should be, and won’t compromise what makes them happy to please others or ‘fit in’. Their happiness will always be a priority and they do not care what others have.
5. Baddies don’t take any sh**
‘Baddies’ do not shy away from challenging wrongdoings, in fact, disrespect is not tolerated… period! They possess the confidence to stand up for what they believe is right! This does not mean that it is done aggressively or rudely as it is usually done respectfully, assertively and with grace, but they always won’t be afraid to put you in your place if needed.
6. Baddies are independent
One thing about a baddie, they certainly don’t rely on anyone for anything! Not family, friends or their partners.
They make their own money, care for their health and well-being, have their dreams and goals and work on achieving them.
Having independence is extremely important for a baddie, as it increases their satisfaction and happiness, and they find the freedom associated with independence very liberating!
7. Baddies are successful
Success is subjective so whatever you deem success to be, a baddie will strive to achieve it! Success is important to a baddie, as they want to achieve a sense of achievement and to feel like they have a purpose.
8. Baddies have high self esteem
Baddies are aware of their capabilities and strengths. They know their value and their worth, thus having high self esteem.
9. Baddies chase their dreams
Baddies do not let anyone or anything stop them from achieving what they want to achieve! They manifest their dreams and do not stop until they get what they want. Mainly because they believe that they can achieve it, and have the resilience and will power to overcome any hurdles they may come across along the way!
10. Baddies support other women
Girl Power! Baddies are always quick to straighten one another’s crown. They recognize the importance of sisterhood and being there for one another!
So all my ‘Baddies’ keep being unapologetically ‘BAD’!!!
