Autumn brunch outfits are genuinely one of my favourite things to put together because it’s my favourite season. Summer is great but there is something about the cooler weather that makes getting dressed actually fun again; layers, textures, deeper colours. The panic of “it’s too hot for anything” is gone and you’ve actually got plenty of options to look super cute.
Whether you’re heading out for a lazy Sunday with friends or a proper sit down brunch somewhere nice, this post has got you covered. Seven outfits, all of them cute, none of them complicated.
What to Wear to An Autumn Brunch?
Autumn brunch outfits are all about getting the balance right between looking nice and actually being comfortable when the temperature drops. Layering is your best friend; a good blazer, a leather jacket or even an oversized knit can completely transform a simple outfit and keep you warm without ruining the look. Stick to autumn tones like rust, chocolate brown, tan, olive and burgundy if you want an easy colour palette to work with, but don’t feel like you have to ditch your neutrals either. Boots are always a good call this time of year too, whether that’s ankle boots, knee highs or something chunky; they instantly make any outfit feel more seasonal.
1. Black Croc Mini Skirt, Cream Knit Vest and Camel Trench Coat

If you’ve got an autumn brunch coming up and you want to look like you put some thought in without spending hours getting ready, this is the one. The black croc mini skirt and cream knit vest are both really easy pieces to work with, and the camel trench coat does the heavy lifting in terms of making it look like a proper outfit.
The tan slouchy knee-high boots are the star of the show here; they’re the kind of boots that work with almost everything, and they’re perfect for when it’s not quite cold enough for a big coat but you still need something. Black sheer tights underneath sort the leg situation out practically without ruining the look.
The tortoiseshell headband is a nice touch and the cream bag ties back into the vest nicely.
2. Burgundy Leather jacket, Grey Oversized Tee & Black Jeans

This is the casual end of autumn brunch outfits and honestly sometimes that’s exactly what you want. A grey oversized crop tee and black wide leg jeans is the kind of base you can throw on without thinking, and the burgundy cropped leather jacket is what stops it from feeling like you just rolled out of bed.
The burgundy tote bag and matching Adidas Spezials pull the whole colour story together in a way that feels really natural rather than forced. It’s one of those outfits where everything just works without you having to overthink it.
The grey New York cap is a nice casual touch and the tortoiseshell claw clip is there for when brunch turns into a long afternoon and your hair needs sorting out.
3. Rust Fitted Tee, jeans & Camel Suede Jacket

This is one of those outfits that looks like you spent ages putting it together but is actually really straightforward. A rust fitted tee and wide leg distressed jeans is a combination that works every time, and the camel suede utility jacket layered on top is perfect for those autumn days where you’re not quite sure what the weather is going to do.
Everything in this outfit is in the same warm camel and rust family and it just makes the whole thing feel really intentional. The tan suede fringe shoulder bag is the standout piece here, it adds so much texture and gives the outfit a really cool boho edge without going too far.
The tan slouchy knee-high boots finish it off perfectly they work with the jacket and bag in a way that feels natural and they’re the right call for an autumn brunch where you might be walking a bit.
4. Olive Maxi Skirt, Black Ling Sleeve Top & Black Leather Jacket

This one is for when you want to look a bit more dressed up than usual without it feeling like too much effort. The olive maxi skirt and black long sleeve top is a really simple combination but the black leather biker jacket thrown over the top gives it a bit of personality.
The black suede fringe bag is a great choice here, it stops the outfit from feeling too serious. Black ankle boots with a small heel are practical enough for a brunch where you might be doing a bit of walking but still look really good.
5. Cream Polo Knit, Wide Leg Jeans & Olive Trench Coat

This is the outfit is my favourite and it’s perfect for when you want to look nice but comfort is still the priority. A cream polo neck knit and wide leg jeans is one of those combinations that just works every time, and the olive trench coat is a really good alternative if you’ve already worn your beige one to death.
The dark brown fringe shoulder bag is the most interesting piece in this outfit; it adds loads of texture and stops the whole thing from feeling too plain. The gold chunky hoop earrings are just enough jewellery without overdoing it.
The olive Adidas Spezials are a brilliant finishing touch, they tie back into the trench coat and are way more comfortable than boots if you’re planning a long brunch.
6. Black Sleeveless Turtleneck, jeans & Khaki Cropped Jacket

This is the outfit for when you want to keep things really simple but still look like you made an effort. A black sleeveless ribbed turtleneck tucked into wide leg jeans is about as straightforward as it gets, and the olive cropped trench jacket is a nice change from the full length version if you prefer something a bit less dramatic.
The black leather tote bag is a really practical choice here, it’s big enough to actually fit everything in, which you don’t always get with a smaller bag. The black ballet flats are a great call with wide-leg jeans and much kinder on your feet than boots if you’re out for a few hours.
7. Cream Top, wide-leg trousers & Oatmeal Coat

This is the most dressed-up of all the autumn brunch outfits in this post and it’s a good one to save for a special occasion or when the vibe is boujee. The cream ruched top and wide-leg trousers together is a really elegant combination, and the gold chain belt is the detail that gives it a little more razzle dazzle.
The oatmeal coat is the perfect layer over the top because it’s warm enough for an autumn day but doesn’t swamp the outfit underneath. The taupe block heel ankle boots are a really practical choice here too, comfortable enough for a long brunch but still look really polished.
The cream shoulder bag and gold teardrop earrings keep everything in the same tonal palette and the gold accessories throughout give it just enough warmth to stop the all cream look from feeling too cold.
And that’s a wrap on these autumn brunch outfits! There really is something for everyone in this post, whether you want to keep it casual with jeans and trainers or go all out with the cream and gold look for something a bit more special. The key with autumn dressing is to not overthink it, a good layer, the right boots and you’re pretty much sorted.
