Winter brunch outfits are genuinely the last thing on my mind when it’s cold, dark and all I want to do is stay on the sofa under a blanket. Winter is honestly my least favourite season: the cold, the dark afternoons, the fact that getting out of bed already feels like an achievement before you’ve even thought about getting dressed. It’s a lot.
But the one thing that gets me through winter is romanticising it. A good excuse to wear a big coat, wrap up in layers that actually look good and pretend I’m the main character walking through a Christmas market somewhere in the city. It sounds dramatic but it works.
So if you’ve got a winter brunch coming up and you’re already thinking about cancelling, don’t. These outfits might just be the thing that gets you out of the door.
How to Nail Your Winter Brunch Outfits
Winter dressing is all about layers, not in a boring way, just in a way that means you’re actually warm enough to enjoy yourself. The biggest challenge with winter brunch outfits is finding that balance between being warm and still looking nice because nobody wants to turn up looking like they’ve just come in from a ten mile walk. A good coat is non negotiable, it’s the thing everyone sees first so it’s worth investing in one you actually love. Underneath it’s all about texture and a chunky knit, a polo neck or even a tailored waistcoat can completely transform a simple outfit and keep you warm at the same time.
oots are your best friend this time of year too, whether that’s knee highs, ankle boots or something chunky. And don’t be afraid of dark colours like chocolate brown, forest green, burgundy and camel as they are all really easy to work with in winter and look so good together.
We’ve put together a collection of winter brunch outfits that get the balance just right, warm enough to actually enjoy yourself and stylish enough that you’ll be glad you didn’t cancel.
1. Cream Turtleneck, Wide Leg Jeans and Chocolate Brown Faux Fur Coat

2. Cream Ruched Top, Olive Wide Leg Trousers and Cream Faux Fur Coat

This is the outfit for when you want to look really put together for winter brunch without feeling like you’re trying too hard. The olive wide leg trousers and cream ruched asymmetric top is such an underrated colour combination and the cream belted faux fur coat ties everything together really nicely.
The gold necklace against the cream top is a really simple jewellery choice but it looks expensive and the gold teardrop earrings give it that exra razzle dazzle. The cream shoulder bag and white ankle boots keep the whole look in the same tonal family and stop the olive from feeling too heavy.
3. Black Midi Dress, Denim Fur Trim Jacket & Black Knee High Boots

This one is fun, a little bit edgy and a bit different from your usual winter brunch outfit. A black ruched midi dress is one of the most flattering things you can wear and the denim jacket with grey fur collar and cuffs is the kind of statement piece that does all the talking for you.
The dark grey faux fur bucket hat is a really bold choice but it works really well with the jacket and stops the all black from feeling too plain. The baby blue shoulder bag is the one surprise in this outfit and it’s such a good contrast against all the black and denim.
The silver sculptural drop earrings add just enough detail and the black suede knee high stiletto boots finish the whole thing off perfectly.
4. Chocolate Brown Ruched Top, Dark Wash Jeans and Olive Coat

This is the outfit for anyone who wants to look really polished for winter brunch without going anywhere near a dress. The chocolate brown ruched top and dark wash barrel leg jeans is a really solid winter combination and the olive wool coat over the top is such a good colour pairing, olive and brown together just works really well in winter.
The tan faux fur bucket hat and matching fur stole are the two pieces that make this outfit really special. They add so much warmth and texture and give the whole look a really luxurious feel (it’s giving rich girl) The chocolate brown shoulder bag and dark brown block heel ankle boots keep everything grounded and in the same colour family.
5. Cream Polo Knit, Black Wide Leg Jeans and Camel Wrap Coat

This is one of those outfits that looks really simple until you clock the bag. A cream polo knit and black wide leg jeans with a tan leather belt is a classic winter combination that you genuinely can’t go wrong with, and the camel wrap coat over the top is the kind of coat that goes with absolutely everything.
But the tan suede studded clutch bag is what makes this outfit really interesting; it’s got just enough edge to stop the whole look from feeling too safe and it’s the piece that people will actually notice and ask about.
The nude block heel ankle boots are a really smart choice here too; they elongate the leg with the black jeans and are comfortable enough for a long brunch without sacrificing anything style wise.
6. Cream Ruched Top, Wide Leg Jeans and Camel Belted Cardigan

This is the most relaxed outfit in this post and sometimes that’s exactly what you need for a winter brunch, especially on a Sunday when you just want to be comfortable. The cream ruched asymmetric top and wide leg jeans is a really easy combination and the oversized camel belted cardigan gives it that cosy winter feel without looking sloppy.
The tan fringe shoulder bag is a really nice touch and adds a bit of texture to what is otherwise quite a simple outfit. The gold tiger eye stud earrings and gold square watch are subtle enough to not overpower anything but still make it look like you made an effort.
The tan slouchy kitten heel boots are the perfect finishing touch and compliment the cardigan and bag and are the kind of boots you can wear all day without your feet giving up on you.
7. lack Longline Top, Leggings and Olive UGG Shearling Jacket

Okay, so this last one is for those of us who draw the line at suffering for fashion in winter. If your idea of a perfect Sunday brunch involves being as warm and comfortable as possible while still looking like you tried a little bit, this is your outfit.
Black leggings and a longline top is the most comfortable base you can start with, and the olive UGG shearling jacket is genuinely one of the cosiest things you can wear outside of an actual duvet. The olive knit leg warmers over bare feet with UGG Tazz slippers is the kind of thing that sounds like it shouldn’t work for brunch but somehow absolutely does.
The grey handbag with the printed scarf tied on the handle is a really cute touch and the dusty pink earmuffs are there for when it’s so cold that looking cute is no longer the priority.
And that’s a wrap on these winter brunch outfits! Whether you went for the cosy cardigan and jeans or the full fur coat moment, the most important thing is that you actually leave the house and enjoy yourself. Winter brunch is genuinely one of the best things about this time of year when you stop fighting the cold and just lean into it.
If this helped, save this post for the next time you’ve got winter brunch plans and absolutely no idea what to wear.
